Small village situated in the Calestienne area, in a meander of the « Eau Blanche », the site of Lompret has been inhabitated since time immemorial, as is revealed by the numerous archaeological discoveries.
Its earliest archaeological centre dates back to the feudal castle destroyed in 1640 which was established on the extremity of a rocky outcrop. The typical dwellings in light grey limestone dating from the 18th and 19th century are reminiscent of the expertise of the population of times gone by.
