Char with Bench Ride and Cheese Fondue

The «chariot à fondue» (fondue wagon), was launched under the appellation "Ardenne Trait Gourmande", invites to discover the landscapes of area still sharing a lunch on a wagon hauled by two robust Ardennes horses. Marquis and Aragon des Traits de l'Almache are champing at the bit leading their greedy passengers away for a ride and for having a delicious meal.

Laetitia Deprelle id native of a town on the banks of the Meuse river, and she has always had a passion for horses. Her husband who is a gardener and a woodcutter has a passion for hunting, and this lead them to Ardennes. Laetitia was a job seeker and she passed a hard logging training. It is her job and she introduces people to it through courses, and then through harnessed rides. Then, she wants to go further and to have people discover the Ardennes local products. She has watched a report on the French TV channel FR3 with people eating cheese fondue on a harnessed wagon in the Upper Savoy. This is the good plan! She spent the winter reconnoitering and choosing routes where there are not too much hills not to tire the pair of horses and for giving nice landscapes to the twelve guests the wagon can accommodate, with the greatest safety.

From the only cheese fondue that was at first envisaged, the choice of dishes got quickly extended with only products made in Belgium. Nowadays, Ardenne Trait Gourmande proposes a local-productsbased brunch, with salt meat, a meat or chocolate fondue, desserts... The wooden table of the wagon has been dug for avoiding the glasses, the plates and the fondue appliances to fall during the ride, which is generally long from two to three hours, long enough to complete a lap towards Graide, Gembes, Our, the col du Grinchi, Daverdisse… Some more specic activities are already scheduled such as the shooting-stars night on the 9th of August and some rides during the stag bell. This is so successful that they plan buying a second wagon, and organizing more cultural or playful activities…
