Landscape and village of Ragnies
Standing alone in a sea of crops, the village of Ragnies takes its place among the gentle undulations of the Hainault silt plateau formed by the Marais stream, a tributary of the Biesmelle.
The island of greenery is marked by the tall spire of Saint-Martin Church and large agricultural expanses.

Prized possesion of the Lobbes Abbey for centuries, the village church, St Martin, alows glimses into the past. The building has constantly been adapted to the needs and tastes of the time: partly romanesque and gothic circled by the old cemetary, it is completed by remarkable oak stalls, very similar to those of Cockayne, in England. Proof of the wealth provided by the fields, numerous large farms of limestone and brick structure the village.
