Close to Thuin, at the Hearth of the rich soils of the Hainaut, Ragnies is bordered on the south by the Luiseul wood and north by the Agaises wood. the village of Raignies extends all along the Marsh Creek, preserving the fields.
Province : Hainaut
Commune : Thuin
Prized possesion of the Lobbes Abbey for centuries, the village church, St Martin, alows glimses into the past. The building has constantly been adapted to the needs and tastes of the time: partly romanesque and gothic circled by the old cemetary, it is completed by remarkable oak stalls, very similar to those of Cockayne, in England. Proof of the wealth provided by the fields, numerous large farms of limestone and brick structure the village.
